Neighbourhood permeability and burglary: a case study of a city in China

Much research from different fields has explored the crime-space relationship for crime types with various study units. However, empirical studies in diverse urban environments get conflict results that support two contrary planning paradigms, ‘open’ and ‘closed’ solutions. Through a case one prosperous city China, this tries to detect between neighbourhood permeability burglary distribution pattern unit of committees. This focuses on three permeability, namely socio-economic, physical, spatial ones. Our findings show neighbourhoods generally lower physical or allowing fewer people enter pass by are associate clustering. Socio-economic barriers offer positive impact prevention. Nevertheless, is not geographically uniform over whole city. A suggestion future outlined conclusion.
